Padres Select HS OF Cory Hahn With 26th Round Pick in 2010 MLB Draft

The Padres got great value in the 26th round by picking high school outfielder Cory Hahn.

An undersized guy, Hahn, 18, has surprising pop, solid speed, a good arm, and tremendous instincts that make everything in his game play up.

Since he slid very far in the draft, Hahn likely is going to need quite a bit of money to sign, but he is a California kid, so the Padres might have a bit of an edge there over most teams.

Hahn has great bat speed and has some room to fill out and develop more power.

Ultimately, I can see him becoming a smaller, left-handed version of Eric Byrnes if everything breaks right. If the Padres can sign Hahn, that’s tremendous value this late in the draft.
