Padres Have Interest in Jorge Cantu

The San Diego Padres are interested in adding corner infielder Jorge Cantu to the roster. He would provide a right handed bat off the bench and would be able to give Brad Hawpe and Chase Headley a break against tough left handed pitchers.

Cantu would give the Padres more experience off the bench and also would give the Padres more experience at first base. Hawpe has not played many games at first in his major league career.
