The San Diego Padres were only able to put together 4 hits in the spring game against the Colorado Rockies and lost the game 4-3. Jesus Guzman tried to rally the team in the 9th inning, hitting his 2nd homerun of the spring against Matt Daley, but the rally fell short.

Starting pitcher Clayton Richard saw his first action of the spring, getting through 2.1 innings, allowing 2 runs and striking out 1. Richard spring debut was delayed due to a “cranky” shoulder.

"Physically, I felt great. But I couldn’t find a rhythm. And that’s what you are trying to do at this time of the year – Clayton Richard"

Dustin Moseley made another strong push for the 5th spot in the rotation pitching in 3.2 innings and striking out 4. He only allowed 2 hits in his outing, but one was a 2-run shot from Jason Giambi.
