The bats come alive!

San Diego Padres 7 – Los Angeles Dodgers 2

W: Aaron Harang (2-0)
L: John Ely (0-1)

After struggling all night yesterday to bring runners across home plate, the Padres were able to come up with big hits during the day game.

Tony Gwynn Jr started the game out for the Dodgers by drawing a walk, stealing a base, and scoring without the benefit of a hit. It was Friar Ball at its best being used against us by the Dodgers. After watching the team struggle at the plate the 2 nights before, there was worry that the one run could be enough to take the victory.

Luckily we were playing baseball under the sun! When we play in the sun the bats start to come alive. The Padres hit THREE home runs in the gam, one each from Ryan Ludwick, Nick Hundley, and Cameron Maybin. Ludwick’s bomb gave the Padres the lead in the 4th inning and was smashed into the 2nd deck in left field.

Aaron Harang picked up his second win of the season. He has pitched well in both of his starts and is enjoying PETCO Park. He passed the game over to Luke Gregerson and Mike Adams to hold onto the victory.

Bats, STAY HOT!
