Friar Farm Report – Rizzo and Double-Decker home runs

Triple-A: Tuscon Padres 6 – Salt Lake Bees 7

1B Anthony Rizzo is just tearing the cover off the baseball right now. He hit his 3rd home run of the season and went 3-for-4 to raise his batting average to .378. OF Aaron Cunningham was a home run short of hitting for the cycle. Simon Castro pitched much better than his precious outing and gave up 3 runs in his 6 innings of work.

Double-A: San Antonio Missions 26 – Northwest Arkansas Naturals 5

The Missions had another HUGE offensive day, lighting up the scoreboard with 26 runs. It was a double-decker night with 1B Cody Decker and Jaff Decker hitting a pair of home runs EACH. Cody drove in a total of 6 runs on the night and Jaff drove in 4 runs. DH Kyle Blanks is rehabbing with the club and went 3-for-6 at the plate.

Class-A Advanced: Lake Elsinore Strom 1 – High Desert Mavericks 2

Unlike the other 2 minor league affiliates, the Storm was involved in a pitcher’s duel. P Mike Watt took the start and pitched 5 innings and struck out 7 while giving up 1 run.
