Dustin Moseley injured for Padres in 5th inning

Starting pitcher Dustin Moseley injured his shoulder in the 5th inning today while in the batter’s box. Moseley popped out and just fell to the floor holding his left shoulder. We do not know the extent of the injury at this time, but he was relieved in the next inning by Cory Luebke.

If Moseley were to miss any time starting, Luebke may be the benefit and get his starts. It is also possible the the Padres call up Wade LeBlanc from Triple-A to get his starts and to keep Luebke in his long relief role.

It would be nice to see Luebke get the starts to reward him for the job he has done out of the bullpen. He has pitched in 23 games this year and has a 1-1 record with a 3.60 ERA. His future on the team is as a starter and it would be nice to see him getting more opportunities in that role.
