Padres will bring up Wade LeBlanc to face the Rockies today

The Padres will bring up lefty pitcher Wade LeBlanc to make the start against the Colorado Rockies this evening. He has pitched well on the farm and did well in his recent visit to the big league team. He has been a solid pitcher that we can call up and get good innings for spot starts. He will be making the start because both Dustin Moseley and Aaron Harang have gone down with injuries.

If there is a spot open in the rotation though, I would much rather see Cory Luebke get his shot. Luebke has been pitching strong out of the pen waiting for his chance to be a starter, much like Tim Stauffer did last year. If it is just a spot start here and there, then we can let LeBlanc take those, but when a spot is ready to be taken, let’s give Lueb the first crack at it.
