Was Nick Hundley ready to make his return?

Nick Hundley returned from the disabled list earlier this month recovering from a strained oblique on his right side. Since he has returned to the big league club, he has struggled. The whole team is in a funk right now, but he is just AWFUL right now.

Should he have spent a little more time on the farm or is he even healthy yet? Since his return, he is 2-for-29 with both hits being singles. That is a terrible batting average of .069. He has 15 strikeouts in that time and he struck out 4 times in the game to up the Twins series. He added another strikeout last night.

Kyle Phillips was doing a fine job while he was up with the team as the catcher, but we chose to keep Rob Johnson on the roster and send Phillips back to the farm. It would be nice to give Hundley a break here and there with Phillips, rather than Johnson.

Hundley needs to break out of the slump that he jumped into and start helping us out with some clutch at bats. Making contact with the ball would be a good place to start. He started out the season strong and we need him to get back that stroke.
