Kyle Blanks Getting Called Up… So Who Is Leaving?

The Padres have called up Kyle Blanks from Triple-A Tucson today and the corresponding move has not yet been announced. Kyle has been playing in the outfield and at 1B down in Tucson and should see plenty of playing time on the big league stage.

So where will Kyle be playing? There are a lot of rumors swirling that have the Padres linked with Cleveland in a Luddy trade. Luddy is not in today’s lineup either and may be packing his bags. Blanks would then be starting in the outfield.

Could we be sending Anthony Rizzo down? Rizz has been struggling since being called up and may need to head back down for a little confidence boost and to work on his swing. He can come back in September when the rosters expand and this could put Blanks as the starter at first.
