Where does Jesus Guzman fit into the equation? I know he is older but really had a nice year in 2011. Perhaps Guzman will be traded and Rizzo gets the job at 1B with Alonso starting in LF.

I've seen Alanso play in Miami and Rizzo play in the minors and his short time in the majors. There almost the same player but like you said Alanso has a couple of years on Rizzo. I've seen Them both hit the ball to all fields and out of the park with power. In fact Rizzo was known as a power line drive hitter to all fields but what happens to his swing in the majors getting long and swinging up is a mystery to me. Could have been just a matter of coaching or pressure. Not to compare Rizzo to Mickey Mantle but the same sort of thing happens to him when he was put in the situation whith the Yankees being the next DiMaggio. He choked so bad they moved him back down to the minors. In fact he was close to giving up baseball but his father talked him out of it and the rest is history. I think both are great players but I'm sticking with rizzo.
