Padres at Brewers Game Recap 3/15/12

The Padres fell to the Brewers even as Matt Clark continued his tear and Dustin Moseley lowered his ERA to 3.00.  Matt Clark came on as a pinch hitter and stayed in the game.  He went 1 for 2 with a run scored.  Moseley went four innings, gave up one run on four hits and a walk, but he struck out two.  The Brewers broke the game open in the sixth and downed the Padres.

Ryan Braun‘s spring struggled continued as he went 0 for 1.  His spring training batting average is just .077.  He has just on hit this spring, a home run.  Chris Narveson of the Brewers threw 3.2 inning and shut the Padres out during that time.  He gave up two hits and two walks.

Micah Owings continued to struggle yesterday as he gave up five runs in 1.2 innings pitched.  He has now given up nine runs this spring in just 5.2 innings pitched.  Alex Hinshaw, Josh Spence, and Dale Thayer combined to close out the game with 2.1 shut out innings.

Jedd Gyorko pinch hit and came up with an RBI base knock in the eighth.  He has struggled this spring, but he picked up his second RBI yesterday.

The Padres (6-8) will take on the Angels at home in Peoria today at 1:05 PT.  Tim Stauffer is scheduled to get the start.
