[...] Chicken Friars has a fans reaction to the fence issue“No matter the case, the people of San Diego, and fans of the Padres around the country certainly have no shortage of opinions about this topic.”Tony Gwynn faces criticism of his SDSU baseball program – Gaslamp Ball“Acee suggested that Gwynn’s involvement with the Padres could be a good way for Gwynn to remove himself from a San Diego State University baseball program that hasn’t exactly thrived under his watch.” [...]

I'd rather see a team with legitimate offensive firepower play 81 games in Petco and then judge whether the fences are an issue. Making a determination on the fences in Petco based on the lineups the Padres have put out there over the past few years somewhat stacks the deck in favor of moving them in. When you strike out more than any other team, that team could play in Willamsburg and it wouldn't matter. Of course, as I write this they are putting up crazy numbers in Wrigley. Perhaps what Petco needs are big fans blowing from behind home plate.

Sure it does. But it doesn't give an advantage to either team. At least with a 2-1 game in the 7th, the Padres have a chance. But when it's 12-5?
