You can;t compare such a small sample size of baseball to 8 years. This is the same story whether we have above avg offensive teams, or below avg-to pathetic teams. You seem to believe the psyche effect is not real? This is a psychological game. Add Petco, good luck. When so many players, not even of the HR hitting variety are complaining, and "can't wait to get on the road", its a huge problem. Like it would in any job environment if you were in happy. This limits who could be successful in Petco, who the Padres can sign, attract, extend draft etc. It dilutes the brand of baseball. I ask again, what is wrong with making one modification to ONE part of the park in RF (or RCF) that would still make the park play VERY big? While trying to eliminate SOME of the extremities of Petco, and possibly gaining some psychological benefit from players that alter their approaches? And not to mention the aforementioned limitations the Padres are already under because of such a park, while also gaining more of a home field advantage they have clearly lacked over 8 years....

Dallas S. McLaughlin "However, the media in 2010 or 2005 or 2006 were not talking 24/7 about the fences." Of course not. Its been magnified by a poor team. That's the distinction. Separate issues over the last 8 plus years. We need better talent and to improve the way the Padres play at Petco vs home in regards to different teams. "I see your facts and I raise you the assumption that IF we move the fences in (to a neutral position) all that we'll happen is we will start losing more games 5-8 rather than 2-4." No. Because as I have pointed out we have been at a disadvantage. Hypothetically, during the years through 04-07 when we had above avg offensive (overall) teams, leading on the road in several categories, but always dead last or near at home. No coincidence. meaning that could have cost us games. Matt Holliday missing home plate comes to mind. Yes, entertainment value has always been my MAIN focus, but if we have been at a disadvantage compared to other teams home field advantage, which clearly we have, why not explore a change? That's not complaining, that's a valid concern that NO OTHER TEAM IN BASEBALL during that time period has had to deal with.

I wish I was animated. I think we all do. But, like you disagree with me, I can disagree. I'm well aware of the fence talk that's happened over the years and fans (like you and I) will always complain about things no matter the circumstance. However, the media in 2010 or 2005 or 2006 were not talking 24/7 about the fences. The fans were and maybe Vinny Castilla, but not the media almost every single day like they do when we're losing badly. I see your facts and I raise you the assumption that IF we move the fences in (to a neutral position) all that we'll happen is we will start losing more games 5-8 rather than 2-4.
