Jedd Gyorko continued his assault on the Pacific Coast League, blasting a homer, and driving in five for Tucson. The Padres also signed a pair of draft picks, signing OF Travis Jankowski, who the Padres selected 44th overall. They also signed 11th round pick INF Maxx Tissenbaum. Both players played for Stony Brook, a team that made the College World Series. Here is what is happening on the farm.

Tucson 9 (26-52), Fresno 8: Jedd Gyorko put the T-Pads ahead for good, with an RBI single in the eighth. Gyorko also had four hits, and is hitting .329 for Tucson this year, with 9 HR’s and 33 RBI’s. OF Daniel Robertson also had four hits out of the leadoff spot. He is hitting .331 on the year.

San Antonio- DNP

Lake Elsinore 4 (5-1), Inland Empire 2: Rico Noel went 3-5 for the Storm, to get his average up to .303. 3B Justin Miller slammed his fifth homer of the year, and he is now hitting .383 on the year. Kevin Quackenbush got the six-out save for the Storm, his 14th of the year.

Fort Wayne 10 (3-2), Lansing 3: Big night offensively for the Tincaps, as they hit three homers. OF Yeison Asencio had three hits, including a homer, his sixth of the year. He is hitting .320 at Fort Wayne this season. James Needy pitched three scoreless innings out of the bullpen, and got the win. He is 3-1 on the year, with a dazzling 0.77 ERA.

Eugene 6 (6-5), Salem-Keizer 1: The Emeralds only gave up one run, despite committing five errors. Jeremy Baltz went 3-5 with a pair of RBI’s for the Emeralds.
