Former Padres farm hand, Ozzie Guillen will probably find himself standing in the unemployment line after getting axed as manager of the Miami Marlins. This was no surprise, but his firing should have happened long ago. But hey at least it happened.

Former Padres players Heath Bell (now a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks), Chad Gaudin, Wade LeBlanc, Edward Mujica (now a member of the St. Louis Cardinals) and  Ryan Webb were all part of the Marlins team that was managed by Guillen.

Joey Cora, the Marlins bench coach and former Padre, was part of Guillen’s staff, and could be looking for a new job too with a new manager being brought in.

Here is a statement from the Marlins president, Larry Beinfest:

"“After careful consideration following the disappointment of the 2012 season, we decided to dismiss Ozzie. Our hope is that a new manager, along with roster improvements, will restore a winning culture.”"

Now, does any Padre fan care?
