Former Padres Pitcher Signs With The Minnesota Twins

The Minnesota Twins have had a busy off-season with the recent trades of Denard Span and Ben Revere. The Twins kept busy Monday night by signing former Padres pitcher Kevin Correia, MLB TradeRumors reports.

The contract is said to be for $10 million over two-years, ESPN’s Jerry Crasnick reports.

The San Diego native pitched for the Pittsburgh Pirates last season where he had a 12-11 record with a 4.21 ERA over 32 games pitched (28 starts).

Correia pitched for the the Padres in 2009 and 2010, combining to go 22-21 with a 4.54 earned run average and a 6.7 k/9.

At best Correia is a No. 3 starter.

He will be a good addition to the Twins’ starting rotation, which will feature the newly acquired Vance Worley, Trevor May and the heralded Alex Meyer.

I’ve always liked Correia and I wish him nothing but the best in Minnesota.
