Poll: Do You Agree With Logan Forsythe’s Potential Move To The Super-Utility Role?

Padres.com writer, Corey Brock, reveled in a story last week that the Padres have asked infielder Logan Forysthe to take fly balls in the outfield at Petco Park. This is in an effort to have Forsythe fill a super-utility role with the Padres.

September 23, 2012; San Francisco, CA, USA; San Diego Padres second baseman Logan Forsythe (11) catches the ball before tagging out San Francisco Giants right fielder Gregor Blanco (not pictured) during the fifth inning at AT

Last year the 26-year-old Forsythe showed his versatility by playing in 81 games at second base, four at third base and five at shortstop.

The third baseman by trade  hasn’t played in the outfield  since his sophomore year in college at the University of Arkansas.

Forsythe’s potential  move to the super-utility role can only bring about speculation of having prized prospect Jedd Gyrko taking over at second base for the upcoming season.

While Forsythe was pretty good at second base last year, producing a .273/.343/.390 slash line, Gyrko’s bat is just to good to not have on the roster.

I am not entirely sure what to think of having Forsythe playing the super-utility role. Part of me likes it because it most likely will bring Gyrko aboard, but the other part of me is not a big fan of it because Forsythe needs to be playing everyday at one position to get comfortable offensively.

So I ask you Padres fans, do you support the idea of Forsythe being a supert-utility player?
