Jedd Gyroko’s offensive prowess has pushed the Padres organization to try Logan Forsythe at the super utility role in order make way for Gyrko at second base.

Today the move paid off.

Gyroko, the No. 2 rated prospect in the Padres organization, opened up the annual Charity game against the Seattle Mariners with a bang. A big bang.

The 24-year-old prospect launched a first inning GRAND SLAM off of Mariners’ starter  Hector Noesi to steam roll the Padres 9-3.

A whole bunch of other stuff happened in the game but I didn’t watch it or listen to it.

All I know is Gyrko went yard and the Padres won.

That’s good enough for me.

Goooo Padres!
