I hope that all of you Friars fans are enjoying yourselves and having fun with “4th of July” festivities. Anyway, here is the “Daily Roundup:”
- Matt Snyder of CBS Sports posted his most recent MLB power rankings. The Friars dropped from #13 overall to #21. Snyder references the absence of Everth Cabrera as a big reason for the team’s struggles.
- Like Cabrera, Will Venable is also trying to make a comeback from a hamstring injury too. Padres.com beat writer Corey Brock reported that Venable ran in the outfield yesterday to test his sore left hamstring.
- Bill Center of the San Diego Union-Tribune provided his preview for tomorrow’s series finale between the Padres and the Red Sox.
- Dave Roberts, former Padres and Red Sox outfielder and San Diego’s current first base coach, discussed “team chemistry” in an article by the Boston Herald’s Tom Layman yesterday.
