Here is the “Daily Roundup,” Friars fans:

• Before I report on some bad news, I thought that I would start with some good for you Friars fans.  Rehabbing starter Cory Luebke recently threw his first bullpen session according to Jamal Collier of MLB.com.  Luebke, who underwent Tommy John surgery last spring, was in the midst of a solid 2012 campaign for San Diego until he elected to have surgery.  The left-hander finished his session pain-free, and he should factor in greatly to the team’s success in 2014.

• Steve Adams of MLB Trade Rumors shared the effect that Everth Cabrera’s 50-game suspension could have on his future, particularly when the shortstop goes through the arbitration process.

• In addition to Cabrera, minor league pitcher Fautino De Los Santos was also suspended for 50 games.  San Diego’s minor league right-hander was reported to have been suspended according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.
