Tekotte, 25, was the Padres 3rd round pick in 2008, out of the University of Miami. He has hit just .163 in 55 career at-bats at the Major League level, but has a career triple-slash line of .269/.355/.445 and hit 19 HR’s just a year ago in AA. Most scouts pegged Tekotte as a solid fourth outfielder.

Kloess, 27, was an undrafted free agent out of Florida Atlantic. He went 6-3, with a 2.69 ERA in 37 games(73.2 innings) with AA Birmingham and AAA Charlotte. He also started 14 games in the minors last year.

I could not find a scouting report on Kloess, but on the surface, he seems like a solid reliever who might be a bit of a late-bloomer. He should give the Padres some depth at AAA in 2013.
