Tucson 6 (27-52), Colorado Springs 4: Matt Clark slammed his 12th homer of the year, and Jedd Gyorko also had three hits. The T-Pads bullpen was able to hold an early lead, and Erik Hamren pitched the ninth for his 4th save of the year.

Lake Elsinore 5 (6-1), Inland Empire 3: Lake Elsinore continues to play great baseball in the second half of the season. INF Casey McElroy hit his 3rd homer for the Storm. McElroy is 14-28, with 3 HR’s and 5 RBI’s since being promoted. Burch Smith continued his solid work for the Storm, as he turned five innings of two-run ball.

Fort Wayne 3, (4-2), Lansing 2: Big-time comeback by the Tincaps, as they scored two in the bottom of the ninth for the win. Top prospect Austin Hedges tied the game with a homer, and Kyle Gaedele had the walk-off single. Hedges had three hits, and is hitting .273 this year. He has 6 homers as well.

Eugene 8 (7-5), Salem-Keizer 4: Eugene used a six run sixth inning to get the win. 2012 2nd Round Pick Jeremy Baltz went 2-5, with a pair of RBI’s, and Escondido’s own River Stevens also had two hits. Baltz is hitting a healthy .375, while Stevens is no slouch either, batting .341.

ESPN’s lead baseball analyst, Keith Law just rated the Padres farm system as the best in baseball. That is because the San Antonio Missions, the Padres Double-A affiliate, just announced that individual game tickets for the San Antonio Missions 2012 season will go on sale, Monday, March 19.

Fans who purchase their tickets on-line will have the option of printing their tickets from home.

San Antonio’s home opener is Thursday, April 5th against the Tulsa Drillers (Colorado Rockies) at 7:05 pm. Opening night festivities will include the raising of the Missions 2011 Texas League Championship banner and championship ring ceremony.

In 2012, the Missions will defend their title as Texas League Champions in their quest for  back-to-back Championships. Future Padres stars who will be playing for the Missions include third baseman Edison Rincon, relief pitcher Erik Hamren,  and LHP Juan Pablo Oramas.

Yesterday, Padres manager Bud Black let us all in on his plans for Sunday’s pitching.  As we covered yesterday, Anthony Bass will get the start.  It was then announced that he will be throwing two innings if all goes according to plan.  Now, the rest of the pitching plans have been laid out.

Matt Palmer, a non-roster invitee, will also get a couple innings.  Palmer is at camp on a minor league contract hoping to find a way onto the big league club.  Palmer has 183.1 innings of major league action under his belt, but after last season with the Angels, he is simply looking for another chance.
