]]> The Padres jumped out to an early 1-0 lead last night and it looked like their good fortunes from game one of the series may continue.  Unfortunately, that just wasn’t the case.  San Diego didn’t score another run and went on to lose the game 6-1.

The Padres first and only run came one a sacrifice fly double play to end the inning.  Figure that one out.  With Will Venable on third and Yonder Alonso on first, Jesus Guzman hit a deep fly ball to left.  It was caught and Venable tagged and scored, but left fielder Mike Baxter was able to double Yonder Alonso off at first base.  Venable scored before the out was recorded so the run counted.
