Fans loved Mark Sweeney. He played for the Padres for four seasons off and on. In those four seasons he endeared himself the the home town fans. They liked his work ethic, his attitude, and his perennial smile. Now, Sweeney will be working in San Diego again. This time as a studio analyst for pre-grame and post-game for the new Fox Sports San Diego.

In Sweeney’s four years with the Padres he hit .265/.351/.392. He played with the Padres for more seasons than any of the other teams he was with. And he was with a lot. In his 14 year career, he played for seven different teams.

Sweeney played for two Padres postseason teams; the National League Pennant winning 1998 team, and the Division wining 2005 team. Sweeney retired after the 2008 season.
